Early Childhood Development and Developmental Milestones: Considerations for the Community Librarian

This workshop covers the key domains of early childhood development: gross motor; fine motor; speech and language; cognitive and intellectual; and social and emotional skills. For each category, in-depth explanations, examples and typical ages for specific milestones will be presented. This program also reviews strategies used in community settings to support early childhood development, including structured programs, open play and early literacy activities for young children with caregivers.
