Why do archivists insist that collections not be broken up and stored chronologically or by subject or type? What are the basic principles of provenance and original order? This workshop will explain why archivists process through incoming donations and existing collections by group, series, subseries, file and item. If you are new to archival arrangement or simply curious, this introduction will help explain the thinking behind the work involved.
Presented by: Nicole Menchise, LILRC Digitization and Archives Coordinator, will present.
