In an ever-evolving academic landscape, libraries must craft strategic plans that embrace uncertainty while aligning with institutional goals and stakeholder needs. This webinar explores practical approaches to strategic planning in libraries, emphasizing the importance of incorporating flexibility, building in known unknowns, and leveraging Appreciative Inquiry to foster innovation and engagement. Participants will learn how to develop actionable, agile plans that position their libraries for success amidst budget fluctuations, emerging technologies, and shifting campus priorities.

Audience

Library managers, directors, supervisors, and other information professionals interested in moving into a leadership position or in leading from their current position.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the webinar, learners will be able to:

Presenter

Kate Flewelling, MLIS, AHIP-D, is the Director of Alumni Medical Library at Boston University where she provides leadership and strategic planning to support the educational, clinical, research and administrative needs of the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine School of Medicine, Division of Graduate Medical Sciences, Goldman School of Dental Medicine, and School of Public Health. She currently serves as MLA Treasurer. Kate has been involved in strategic planning at the departmental, library, school and association levels.
