Staff from the Library of Congress volunteer transcription program By the People will share about new projects that invite the public to engage deeply with the history of our country’s founding, from colonial life to the early Republic. Learn about how the program works, resources for putting on a transcribe-a-thon at your library, and the impact By the People volunteers have on historical research.

The American Revolution in Context transcription projects are presented in collaboration with WETA and The American Revolution, a new film by Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein, and David Schmidt that examines how America’s founding turned the world upside-down. Visit PBS to learn more about the film, find resources for libraries and more.

Presenters: By the People community managers Lauren Algee, Carlyn Osborn, and Abigail Shelton.
