The “Declaration of 1776: The Big Bang of Modern Democracy” exhibit, created by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, is a new addition to LILRC’s catalog of traveling exhibits that our member institutions are allowed to borrow from.

This exhibit showcases the long-lasting impact of the values of equality and justice rooted in the Declaration of Independence by illustrating how both American and international social movements have drawn inspiration from this seminal document.

Assembling this exhibit can be easily done in minutes. It contains 7 retractable panels with stands: 3x7 (each with its own carrying case), and requires a minimum of 21 feet of running space. The weight per disassembled panel in the case is 12lb each.

For more information about “Declaration of 1776,” please click the following link to its official exhibit page.

Regarding any questions about borrowing the exhibit, kindly contact Mona Boyd at mboyd@lilrc.org or 631-675-1570.
