The Committee on Resource Sharing and Management is a standing committee of the Long Island Library Resources Council (LILRC). The purpose of the committee is to encourage cooperation among all types of libraries in Nassau and Suffolk Counties in order to enhance resource sharing and management.

As part of its mission, the Committee will:

  • Encourage and assist libraries to formulate collection development policies that incorporate diverse voices and awareness of regional resources;
  • Explore current trends and issues related to print and electronic serials management, including related databases and opportunities for cooperative purchasing;
  • Promote continuing education related to resource sharing and management;
  • Review the Regional Coordinated Collection Development Aid (CCDA) program and update annually or as needed;
  • Maintain relations with other LILRC advisory committees in areas of overlapping interests and explore opportunities for coordinated activities.
