This presentation will address the Civil Service Law leaves of which employers should be aware when employees are on, or need, an extended absence from work due to a personal or work-related disability. It will also provide an overview of what employers need to know when formally disciplining or terminating employees pursuant to Civil Service Law Section 75. Alyssa L. Zuckerman is an attorney with the law firm, Keane & Beane. Ms. Zuckerman’s practice focuses on representing employers in both the public and private sectors in labor, employment and education law matters. She has experience in public and private sector collective bargaining, grievance arbitrations, interest arbitrations, employee disciplinary proceedings, unemployment insurance hearings and matters before the New York State Public Employment Relations Board and the National Labor Relations Board.
