What Exactly Is That?: Understanding the Microfilm Collection You've Inherited

Almost every library or archives has a collection of microfilm. This workshop will identify the different types and formats of microfilm media. It will explain how the microfilm was produced and provide guidance on the preservation of these often-unique resources. The presenter is Dr. Gregory S. Hunter from the Palmer School of Library and Information Science at Long Island University. One part of his varied professional career was managing an in-house microfilming operation at ITT World Headquarters. He also has evaluated microfilm collections as a consultant.
