Diversity involves how individuals discern themselves, but also how they discern others. Those perceptions can affect the way in which people interact and communicate with the world around them. These interactions can be the primary reason why a person decides to engage with your institution (or not), can dictate where a person spends their time, and/or the people they choose to have relationships with. This training will offer participants tools and strategies to create a diverse, inclusive environment by avoiding misunderstandings based on: 1. Stereotypes 2. Language/accent 3. Differences in communication styles and non-verbal communication Presented by: Alyssa Cottone, MA Psychology and Organizational Psychology
