Using Community Resources to Enhance Library Programming

Learn how to activate the businesses, organizations, health care providers, educational institutions, and local governments in your area to provide your library with free programming, increased attendance, and a greater impact in your community - all at no additional cost to your library. Learn how to make the approach, how to jointly create new programming, how to monitor outside presenters, how to obtain sponsors, and how to use them to market all of your library’s resources and services. See how the Oceanside Library has increased program attendance 62% without additional budgetary spending.

This workshop will cover:

  • Teaming up with local colleges, hospitals, health care providers
  • Developing joint programs with local businesses, non-profits and other
    government entities
  • Running library programs in the community (parks, coffee shops, bars, senior centers, funeral homes, pizza parlors, etc.)
