Growing Your Library Gardening Programs: With Cornell Cooperative Extension

Dr. Roxanne Zimmer, Community Horticulture Specialist at Cornell Cooperative Extension, Suffolk County, will share the wide variety of programming topics that can be supported through the CCE Speakers Bureau, including The Art of Saving Seeds, Gardening in Small Places, Destination Gardens, Sensory Gardens, Container Gardens, Community Gardens, Mocktails, and Gardening in Warmer Weather. 

About Dr. Roxanne Zimmer:

As a college professor, Dr. Zimmer addressed environmental questions around food and water issues in her undergraduate and graduate courses at Stony Brook University and the College of New Rochelle. She has been an invited speaker addressing a variety of gardening topics at libraries and community organizations in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Dr. Zimmer was recently the keynote speaker for Cornell’s Spring Gardening School with her talk on “The High Line: Lessons for Long Island Gardeners.” She  has also worked with thirty school districts on the East End of Long Island bringing school gardens to life in the curriculum and the cafeteria.

A certificate for 1.5 Professional Development Hours (.15 CEUs) will be emailed after the event.
