[CANCELLED] Libraries Are Champions of Healthy Communities Roundtable Meeting

As community centers and community hubs, libraries provides open, inclusive and safe spaces and are offering more and more programs and services to promote healthy living and wellness in the community.  Join library colleagues from Nassau and Suffolk to share the successful health and wellness programs developed for patrons of all ages in our communities (exercise program, gardening club, cooking lessons, mental health awareness, opioid crisis awareness, disaster preparedness, fit kits, seeding libraries, diet and nutrition programs, etc.).  Please bring copies of your health and wellness program flyers to share what you are offering and the success of your programs. 

Valerie Lewis, Administrator of Outreach Services at Suffolk Cooperative Library System (SCLS) and Nicole Scherer, Outreach & Engagement Manager at Nassau Library System (NLS) will give an update on the many community agencies and organizations they partner with to bring health and wellness programs to libraries.

This roundtable meeting is a collaboration of LILRC, NLS, SCLS and Personnel Issues and Professional Concerns Committee of NCLA.  Let’s work together to continue to be Champions of Healthy Communities! 

Free to attend but registration is required.

A certificate for 2 Professional Development Hour (.2 CEU's) will be emailed after the workshop.
