Qualifications:
- Ability to provide outstanding reference, reader’s advisory, and referral services to children, teens and families
- Experience in conducting programs and developing collections for the Youth Services population, specifically Teen and Tweens
- Assist with our Battle of the Books programs
- Promotion and demonstration of library services through community outreach.
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Exhibit a positive attitude towards patrons and coworkers
- Willingness to work as a team member
- Staff a busy Adult and Children’s Reference Desk
- Applicant must have an MLS from an accredited Library School with at least 12 credits of Children’s classes and a valid New York State Public Librarian Certificate OR
- Applicant must be actively enrolled in an accredited MLS program to be considered for a Librarian Trainee position.
Schedule:
- Ability to work 17 hours weekly that includes evenings and weekend shifts
- Flexibility is needed
Salary:
- Librarian Trainee Salary starting at $28.54 and increasing depending on number of credits
- P/T Librarian $32.03 hourly
