Children's Librarian - Comsewoque Public Library

Requirements & Duties: 

  • Desire to work with children, teens, and caregivers 
  • Strong customer service skills 
  • Strong technology skills, including digital library services 
  • Programming for children and teens, birth through Grade 12 
  • Reference, research and reader’s advisory 
  • Collection development 
  • Community and outreach engagement 
  • Gain working knowledge of library policies and procedures 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications: 

  • MLS Degree or currently enrolled in an ALA-accredited library school Must meet Civil Service Department requirements for Children’s Librarian/Trainee  position 
  • Must be able to make sustainability-conscious workplace decisions 

Hours: 

11-17.5 hours per week, including nights and weekend rotation

Rate: (22/23 Fiscal year hourly rate) 

$30.76/hr. for Librarian I, $24.31-$26.77/hr. for Librarian Trainee based on credits
