Reporting to the Director, the responsibilities of the Digitization Laboratory Manager include, but not limited to:

  • Assist with the training of Gardiner Fellows
  • Coordinate digitization on the various scanners in the Palmer School lab as well as the mobile digitization units

  • Provide technical assistance and problem solving during scanning

  • Assist with metadata creation

  • Coordinate backup of scanned images

  • Assist with the preparation of images and metadata for uploading into Preservica

  • Scan additional images as time permits

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Library and Information Science
  • Knowledge of archival principles and practices

  • Knowledge of metadata principles and practices

  • Demonstrated technical expertise with the DT Atom and Epson scanners

This is a part-time position (no benefits) 17 hours per week.
