Jobline Information for Employers
The Jobline is maintained
by the Long Island Library Resources Council as a service to the
libraries in Nassau and Suffolk counties. The Jobline is a
round-the-clock recorded message of library job vacancies in the region,
as reported by employers. Job listings are also posted on LILRC
homepage.
-
All job openings for all
types of libraries may be listed, including full- and part-time,
professional and support staff.
-
All listings must be
submitted in writing. We encourage you to use our
form (in PDF format) so that all necessary information is
included in a logical and consistent order for taping.
-
Listings will be retained
on tape for two weeks, unless you ask us to delete a message after one
week. Tapes will be changed weekly when there are changes to list.
Listings must be received at LILRC by Friday for inclusion on the tape
beginning the following Tuesday.
-
There is a fee of $10.00
for each two-week listing. We ask that the fee be sent with the job
listing form, but billing is possible in special circumstances. There is
no partial fee for a one-week listing.
-
The salary figure does not
have to be announced on the tape, but we must be assured that all job
openings posted meet the latest minimum starting salary levels as
adopted by the county library associations. At present*, these levels
are: minimum professional - $30,103; minimum clerical - $16,380.
-
Listings may also be sent
to LILRC by fax: (631) 632-6662, with the notation "Check to follow."
-
No "job wanted" listings
will be accepted.
-
The phone number for the
Jobline is (631) 632-6658. You may call that number at any time or check
the LILRC homepage.
