CHARGE
The Committee on Resource
Sharing is a committee of the Long Island Library Resources Council. The
purpose of the committee is to foster enhanced and facilitated resource sharing.
GOALS
- Encourage and assist area
librarians to formulate collection development policies that incorporate
awareness of regional resources and activities.
- Explore alternative sources of funding for resource sharing and cooperative
acquisitions.
- Advise LILRC on matters relating to interlibrary loan policies and procedures.
- Encourage the use of the latest technology.
- Promote responsible use of the Research Loan Program (RLP).
- Encourage cooperation among all types of libraries to enhance resource sharing.
- Educate library staff members on issues related to resource sharing through
workshops and other programs, newsletter articles, and other appropriate means.
